– Pen mode: This is the default mode and it allows you to draw sharp corners or smooth curves, depending on whether you click or drag with your mouse. There are seven modes available in the context toolbar when using the Pen tool: In order to use the Pen Tool, make sure that the Pen tool is selected by looking at the icon. If you left-click on the arrow to the bottom right of the Pen Tool, you will see a pop-up menu where you can select either the Pen Tool or the Node tool (see image below). The Pen tool (P) is very easy to locate due to its icon which is literally a pen. There are three different types of lines that you can create with the Pen tool: straight, curved, and freehand. With this tool, you can draw any type of line that you need. All you need to do is select the Pen tool from the Toolbar on the left side. Drawing lines in Affinity Photo is simple.
